Details and To Do's - One Room Challenge Spring 2015

We're in the homestretch!! The final inning! The 4th Quarter! Whatever you want to call it, it means in one week we'll all be revealing our rooms and honestly I'm kinda freaking out.

This week whizzed by for me...I'm completely exhausted from the challenge and show prep (see the end of post for explanation!)  and still have gobs left to do.

Thankfully, its all about putting pretty things in place now....oh, and we (still!) need to install baseboards.

The painting is done and I'm super excited because it was the last big room that needed painting in the whole house!

Wow.

Where does the week go!?

I'm doing my best to stay on track with this room, which means each day I try and tackle a little something.

Currently the state of our room is a bit sad...

Just screams "Pin Me!" doesn't it! Oh, goodness, clearly I need to rethink keeping that fan. Its terribly boring, but oh so useful during hot Idaho summers!

Fabric Design - One Room Challenge Spring 2015

How are you hanging in there?

Halfway through the ORC and I'm feeling the pressure! I knew I would be since we had some prior commitments that took us away from the house over the weekend (aka, I got diddly squat done on the actual room) but I still have something SUPER exciting to share with you today!

Back at the new year I made a promise to myself - not necessarily a resolution, but more of a goal list of sorts - to do the things that I have been talking about for soooooooooooooooo long, but never following through on.

We all do that right?

Welp, I decided that 2015 was the year to start doing.

One of the things on my list was to design a fabric line based on my blog and Etsy shop.

Say, what!?

Yup!

I took some drawings and designs that I have been working on - you will notice that they have been or are being used as part of my blog header as well -  and turned them into fabric designs!

Get where I'm going with this?

I will be sewing up my own accent pillow for the bedroom!

Pretty cool, right!??? I can't even explain how excited I am!

Let's look at my design board from week one of the ORC again... if you remember I said I was planning on incorporating my own art in a unique way. Well, do you see that cow sketch below? Its the one I picked to be used on my pillow!

The Rug - One Room Challenge Spring 2015

Eh, em... someone pinch me, please.

I'm still riding on a high from finding the absolute most perfect thing for our master bedroom makeover ever. Well, maybe its not quite as amazing as the time I found the old doors we used for our headboard, but definitely a really close second!

There's a story, but first lets look back at last week when I shared my bedroom befores & design plan.

Here's the board again...

Do you see that colorful rug?

Kitchen - what's next?

Welcome everyone!

I thought today I would walk through what we have done in the kitchen and what's left to do.

I'm probably doing this more for my own knowledge (and motivation) than anything else, because lets be honest....this is taking forever......

So here is where we started:

Master Bedroom Makeover - One Room Challenge Spring 2015

As you can probably guess from the title, the master bedroom received the most votes (67% actually!) for the Spring One Room Challenge! I really thought it was going to be a nail biter, but I guess people are ready to see me finally do something about this space.

I'm not gonna lie, I am sooooo excited to tackle our master!

Just to recap, in case you're scratching your head wondering what the heck the One Room Challenge is, its a design challenge put on by Linda at Calling it Home. The goal is to completely makeover a space in 6 weeks - start to finish! I'm choosing to participate via the link party on Thursday's, but you can also find the "professionals" tackling their spaces on Wed! Its so much fun to follow along!! If you happen to visiting from the link party, then welcome to Averie Lane!

So, that brings us back to the master bedroom...here's the room when we moved in:

Downright DEPRESSING.
