Project: Curb appeal {part 2}

Now that I have spent plenty of time bombarding you with everything Elynn this last couple weeks, how about we turn our attention back to our  Curb Appeal project.
If you remember in part one we left off with a huge mess.
I also happened to find a better before picture of the house...

Well, sort of...
The several things I want you to notice in the above picture...
1. ) the ugly orange lamp post. 2.) the giant creepy plant next to the porch 3.) the teeny tine light fixtures on either side of the garage.
Now some afters...

My husband painted the light post black...

I'm not even sure when he did it? Sneaky guy!

We also changed out the light fixture for one we found at Costco for $29!
They are AWESOME!
They have an LED light with a sensor that makes them turn on and off automatically!
Plus they are much larger which made a big difference!

 We also added some new plants...

And my favorite ...
a HUGE flag in place of the creepy bush!!!

I'd say we made a big improvement so far... now I'm just contemplating new house colors.

Project: Curb Appeal {part 1}

I realized I haven't ever shared what the outside of our house looks like... 

It became most apparent when I needed some before pictures of our house and realized I don't have any - other than Instagram shots in the snow...

Here's a before...

Do you see that tall bush to the right of the front door?

No?

See that thing creeping in and choking the life out of our porch now?

Yeah, I mentioned to my husband that we should probably trim it back a tad.

I left for the post office and came back to this...

Wahahaha!!!! 

Bye bye bush, nice knowing ya!

Apparently if you move a man from North Idaho, to the desert in Southern Idaho he will find any excuse to pull out a really big chain saw.
