It is a vintage 1960s hairpin leg stool that I found at a yard sale.
The guy selling it said he built it in his high school metal shop class and that his mom put the fabric on!
He wanted a whole $3 for it and I wasn't going to try and talk him down after that little history lesson, but he was so thrilled that I actually liked it, he just gave it to me!
I admit, it was love at first sight, but I knew the dingy fabric would have to go.
I scoured my fabric stash and came up with these 3 options to recover it...
A. Faux Fur
B. Faux Tooled Leather
C. The nubby fabric from my first attempt at the DIY Ottoman
It was super close, but fur won by a hair!!
I added a second layer of foam and stapled on the new fabric.
Couldn't be simpler!
I'm thinking it could be a great addition to my daughters room...
Ellery's Room Idea Boards ( there are 3 to choose from!)
Maybe paint the base gold???
What do you think?
