...well hello there!
I fully admit that blogging has taken a huge backseat this last few weeks and I haven't done a great job of explaining WHY.
I am in the midst of Christmas Show season, so ALL of my free time has been spent painting for shows, painting orders taken at the shows and painting orders that have come in through the Etsy shop.
By no means am I complaining....quite the opposite!
It just means I have to make choices as to how I manage my time (which seems in short supply lately) and so the blog has got the shaft. Which, btw...totally kills me! I miss writing and connecting with all of you! Its a huge part of who I am, you know!?
That said, I'm also enjoying this new season and the work I'm putting into Averie Lane Boutique. Since my first show in May, I have really honed my skills and worked hard to create new product for the shows. I still have one show coming up this next weekend and then I will have a small break until next year. I have several shows booked already and few more in the works. I will post a show list in my side bar around the first of the year so you know where to find me! I am super excited about them and I can't wait to share more!!!
Speaking of shows, I'm TOTALLY loving the tree I picked out to use at my shows! Its a gorgeous flocked tree that I snagged at Walmart! Its the 7ft tall tree and was $150...a little pricey, but I'm planning on using it at our house this year too! I can't wait to show you! I found a similar one on Amazon for just $89! (affiliate link)
Here's a shot of my both before I add all my product...
and after...
I have to say...its just crazy that we pull this off! My last show was Wintry Market in Boise. I only took my signs and handmade goods and it was AMAZING! I wasn't sure if my art could carry a show, but it totally did!
I'm also working on updating my Etsy shop with some of the new designs. Keep checking Averie Lane Boutique to see whats new!
Like this gold leaf globe (custom phrases upon request!)
I will also be adding some custom pillows soon as well! So excited about these because two words...faux...suede! !!!
I encourage you to follow me on Instagram for all real time updates (I'm @averielaneblog) !
You might see cute pictures like this too,....
Clearly I have LOTS of help around here!!
Well, stay tuned for a few more updates...I have some house updates, life updates and I plan on doing a Christmas tour even though I'm not a part of any bloggy tours this year. Hope you stick around!!

First Craft Show
What a whirlwind of a week!
Not only was it my first craft show, but we welcomed our new baby into the world (...more on that here/link to come...)!
Because I was recovering from his birth I didn't actually get to attend my craft show..I am very sad about this, but VERY thankful my sister had already planned on being here and was able to man the booth for the both of us. From what I hear the show went really well, we all sold some of what we made and are totally excited for the next show coming up in Dec!
I thought I would give you a peek at what I featured at the show! Also stay tuned for the launching of mine and my sister's Etsy shop in the next couple days!

All the signs were made from reclaimed wood that we salvaged from an old Victorian house in Sandpoint and from out at the farm( can you believe some of this was in a burn pile??? Oh no they didn't!)
I must give mad props to my hubs for finishing the signs- clear coats and hanging hardware- all in time for the show! Love him!!!

Yard Sale Tales {week 11}
Happy October 1st everyone!! Its finally feeling like fall here in N. Idaho and I love it! It means we are getting closer to the arrival of our little guy ... under two months to go! Sadly it also means a wrap up of yard sale season. Which is probably a good thing around here{we have PLENTY of projects to keep us going all winter!}. That said, we did manage at least one last haul!
I really wasn't looking for anything in particular, but we came across some good stuff. The biggest find were the shutters, we picked up 4 pairs and a single for $22! I normally don't see shutters and usually if I do they are a little pricier. These are going to get makeovers and be part of my first craft show! I have several ideas for the shutters and can't wait to show what I do! We also picked up a box of wall sconce lights for $5- there were two different sets, three of one style and two of another. I am crossing my fingers that at least two work in Ellery's room, because the last ones I bought sure didn't. I like these ones way way way better anyway and I can sell the ones we don't use and make my money back on them.
I also snagged this ugly gold frame for free! It too will be getting made over for the craft show!
The belt is for me... it is made out of layers of a shell like material...almost like scales...and is stretchy, which is a bonus!! I am pretty sure it is vintage...or at least the dry cleaners tag on it is!
Sometimes I find things that totally crack me up...in this case it was this creepy baby! Haha! Its actually a poseable store display mannequin. I found it for $5, which I didn't know was a screaming good deal until I looked up what they cost new( $50 and up!). The creepy baby will actually go live with my sister- she makes the cutest dresses, but only has a little boy to act as her model..which you can imagine doesn't work very well!
I also found a car seat cover for $1! Nice find considering we will be having a baby in the middle of winter!
I also found some beautiful vintage pillowcases/sheet sets, some vintage ribbon and a whole bag of clothes pins for $4 total! I am racking my brain on how to use the ribbon...I'm thinking it might work to embellish Ellery's curtains... if I have enough. I also can't wait to see what my sister can do with the pillowcases! I will be doing a post soon featuring her beautiful pillowcase dresses!
